Alwar city palace is situated in the old city of Alwar and it was built in 1793 AD by the second ruler of Alwar state Maharaja Bakhtawar Singh Ji this palace comprises of the royal court and ladies compound and the administration part. It is a mix of Indo Islamic style of architecture including Bengali style of windows and it is having marble canopies in its courtyard which were used to enjoy events.
It is a cenotaph built in 1815 AD by the third ruler of Alwar Maharaja Vinay Singh Ji in the memory of his father Bakhtawar Singh and his Queen Moosi Rani, It is believed that when Maharaja Bhaktawar Singh died one of his queen Moosi Rani performed sati with him, In this eternal romantic memory their son Vinay Singh built this by the white marble in the upper portion and red sand stone in the lower portion, It is one of the biggest cenotaph built in Rajasthan and sometimes also known as mini Taj Mahal of Rajasthan. It is also known as 84 pillars cenotaph and marble used in this monument is originated from the same place called Makrana in Nagaur from where white Marble was sent in making of Taj Mahal one of the seven wonder of the world, Moosi maharani ki chatri is a glimpse of architectural blend because it is having very nicely curated floral carvings and very good architecture of Indo Islamic style of architecture.
Sagar is a water body just adjacent to the Moosi Maharani ki Chhatri and behind the City Palace of Alwar, It was a pond which was later concreted and constructed pakka by the Vinay Singh Ji, It is having 12 small canopies on the bank of it where females used to take bath in the old time, It is having very nicely made haveli style houses of the pandit families in the west of the pond overall it is a very good photographic location for the visitors.
The history and archaeology museum of Alwar is governed and administered by archaeology department Rajasthan, In this museum we have sculptures, paintings, miniatures and dresses of Maharaja and most importantly the old weapons used by the Army's of Maharajas at that time, This museum was built in 1940 by the then British political agent Mr C.W. Harway in the time of last ruler of Alwar Maharaja Tej Singh Ji, This museum contains few of the finest example of that time, One of them is dining table made by the silver and stuffed tiger and leopord hunted by the Maharaja, pederson bicycle that Maharaja imported from England, structures of the old palaces, It also contains miniature paintings of 18th and 19th century that were prepared by the brain drain artists who arrived here and maharaja gave shelter to them, Few of the examples of the art of those artist the epics of Hindu and Islamic religion which includes Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharat, Quran Sharif, Gulistan(Garden of roses) and one of the important book is the biography of Akbar the Mughal emperor, In the weapon section there are some very important weapons like shield made by different metals and skin of animals like crocodile, turtle and rhino, There are different kind of Swords made by different types of iron, Long spears, Angrakha and gun powder flask etc..
This Lake is located 15 km from Alwar city, It was built by third King Vinay Singh in 1844 AD, King Vinay Singh built this lake palace as a gift to his queen sheela and made a dam to reserve the rain water and this nicely made 9 story building palace now turn as a Heritage hotel run by the Rajasthan Government, this lake is spread in 10.3 Sq Kms area which comprise of a small Island, One can enjoye boating in the lake, There are multiple luxury accommodation available on the bank of lake which includes Heritage haveli and experiential resorts, There is a crocodile view point where one can spot many crocodiles out of lake in muddy water sunbathing in the morning time on the other side of the lake, We offer a short excursion tour from Alwar city on bike for lake, crocodile view and Garwaji water falls hike.
Bala Quila is also known as Alwar fort, It is one of the prominent tourist place of Alwar which one cannot escape if they are visiting Alwar or Sariska, This fort is the third highest situated fort in Rajasthan at an elevation of 1960 Ft from sea level, Bala Quila is situated in the buffer zone of Sariska Tiger Reserve, If one is taking a buffer Zone safari then they can cover the Bala Quila fort within the Safari only, Alternatively one can also reach Bala Quila by their own personal vehicle on any day between 9:00 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. only four wheeler are allowed in all the days except Tuesday and Saturday when you can reach by your own two wheeler also.
Bhangarh Fort is very famous Fort in Alwar District which is very close from Jaipur City, Also it was built in 1574 AD, It is believed as one of the most haunted place in the world and there are many spooky tales associated with this Fort, it is a very big fort complex which includes Fort palace, temples and garden area and big protection wall, There are many stories with this Bhangarh fort, Is situated on the southern corner of Sariska Tiger Reserve which is just like at the end point of sariska going to Jaipur, One can visit fort if they are here in Alwar for multiple days of package on the last day leaving to Jaipur or first day coming from Jaipur.
